Where's the World in this Peace?
For a site with the lofty title of World Wanting Peace, there doesn't seem to be a lot of the "world" here. Discussions of the Middle East peace process, the Iraqi war, politics and our government leaders seem to be conspicuously missing.
Why is that?
Well . . . Peace is all about me. And you.
Peace begins at home. About as far I venture into the world in these writings is out the back door. It may be my back door, yours or a new friend I've met half way around the globe, but what I'm interested in always hits close to home -- if not mine, maybe yours.
This site concentrates on building world peace one person at a time. The New Thought motto is, "Be what you want." We want peace, so we must be peaceful. Building up our defense is no true way to peace. Knowing what you want isn't always easy. It takes time. Focus on the question and the true answer comes from within.
For me, the rest of my life will be spent working diligently to maintain and enhance my peace. I'll need to be honest, compassionate and forgiving. Most of all, I must change everything. I have to be retrained. My reactions to people, places and things must be different than my 50 years of training indicate. I don't think I ever will be finished retraining.
Changing from a judgmental, self-centered, ego-maniac to a confident, compassionate partner (to spouse, family, friends and colleagues) is an all-consuming job. I keep that goal in my mind as much as possible. When it leaves, the old habit energy, to quote Thich Nhat Han, resumes.
You may have wanted more information about the "world" here, but I'm afraid you won't find it unless it relates directly to our my journey. Of course, what you're going through relates to my journey as well.
So, I'm very interested to hear from you and your journey to peace as well. Feel free to write. If you'd like to pen your story, send me an email. You can have the floor.
Thanks for traveling with me.

David Perdew,
How can I get in touch with you????
Read your travel piece in the Denver Post last week, and I'm dying to know how you are.
Gathered some odds and ends from your web page, but there are lots of unanswered questions.
So glad to have found you!
Anne
